Can We Talk About Something? Lemons

When life give you lemons...

Juice them!

Every night, while we're sleeping, our glorious liver is working hard gathering up poisons and toxins from our cells and tissues and getting ready to excrete them from our body through the bladder and colon. When we wake up, this gunk needs to be flushed out. Otherwise the body reabsorbs those toxins. Yuck!

It's a really good idea to drink lemon water first thing in the morning. The deep roots of lemon trees infuse the living water inside the lemon with precious trace minerals and phytochemical compounds that they extract from the earth.

Lemons are ultra-hydrating and electrolyte-producing. They also have some of the most highly absorbable vitamin C, as well as bioactive calcium that our bodies crave. Go lemons go!

Lemons create alkalinity in the body to help prevent the growth of almost every type of cancer! Lemons are one of the most effective mucus expellers there is, for when you're sick with a cold, flu, bronchitis, or pneumonia.

Squeeze 1/2 to 1 lemon in 16-32 oz of cold or room temperature water and drink it upon waking. You may add a teaspoon of raw honey to your morning lemon water if you'd like. However, if your purpose for drinking lemon water in the morning is to flush out the liver, please do not use hot water. When you put lemon in hot water, you destroy the living power the lemon has and it's not going to help you flush out toxins and poisons. Wait 30 minutes before you consume anything else.
